Blackjack stats with the player placing their bet. One card is dealt to every player and the dealer receives a card face-up. Each player receives a second card and the dealer receives a second card face-down. If the dealers face-up card is an Ace, players will be offers an insurance bet. This is where the player can place an additional bet of 1/2 of their original bet that will pay out at 3:1 of the dealer has blackjack. This means that the player will get their original bet back if the dealer does have blackjack. If the dealer doesn't have blackjack, the insurance bet is lost.

Each player takes turns with their hand. When it's your turn to play you can either Hit, Stand, Double or if it's available, you can surrender. Surrendering lets you basically 'fold' your cards before you do anything else and you loose only ½ of your bet. Doubling is also only available only on the first move. Doubling is when you double your bet and receive only one extra card. When you Hit, you get another card, and you can hit as many times as you like until you decide to stand. When you stand, you think you've got enough of a hand to win the game.

When all players are finished their betting, the dealer plays their hand the same way. The dealer has set rules as to when they must Hit and when they must Sit. After the dealer finishes their hand if the dealers hand is less then the players hand, the player wins. If the players hand is less then the dealers hand, the dealer wins. If the dealers hand and the players hand are the same, the game is a push, meaning that the players original bet is returned to them.
